I have a site in an old account and used a custom domain for that site. Now I have a new account and have created a new site in that new account. I wanted to use the custom domain for the new site. I have removed the custom domain from the old site and have been waiting for it to be available to use for the new site. The wait has been more than 8 hours. I am wondering how long it may take. Also, is there anything I should have done (or not done)?
Hey there , please verify domain ownership and let us know by responding here when thatās done. If the verification is successful we can remove the domain from the other account so you can use it on yours.
I read the link provided by you. I own both sites old and new and have already removed the domain from the old site at the time of my initial post. The post linked by you mentions āIf you did NOT use the domain on one of your other netlify sites, then ā¦verification stepsā¦ā, I assume this does not apply to my case since I did use the domain for the old site and had already removed it.
Could you please help me check why the domain is still not released? Please let me know if I would need to do the verification regardless. I own the domain and can do those steps.
Did you also remove the domain from the account @minhle2704? If it is still connected to the account (under the Domains page) then that is the reason for the error. If you remove the domain from there you will have no issue adding it to your new account.
Ah, thank you! Thatās what I missed. Iāve just deleted the domain from the old account (where the old site lives) and the itās immediately available now for the new site in the new account.
