One of the big things in Portland, Oregon, USA, where I live, are meetups. You can basically go to a meetup every single day of the week (on many days, there are actually several to chose from!) and see people speak on topics that range from extremely dense technical ones to talks on leadership, tech writing, and making our companies as diverse and inclusive as possible.
