Why does both and master– point to the currently published deployment?

It would seem more appropriate for master– to point to the HEAD of master.

Can any one explain what the definition of master– is? Why is it not called deployed– ?Is there any undocumented way of previewing the head of master, something like head–

Indeed, that is a bug specifically around the master branch - we do some special handling of it and it shows “what is published”, not “HEAD” as you expect. I’ve added your contact details to the bug so we can let you know when we fix it.

I can’t think of any way to avoid the issue now.
